Terms of service

The short version

1. Who we are

Vesta is provided by Brett Stone, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Vesta, you agree to these terms, our privacy policy and our refund and cancellation policy.

2. The beta

Vesta is in beta. Features will change, some may be removed, and the service may be slow or unavailable at times, especially while the network is small. During the closed beta, invited testers use Vesta free, and we may end a tester's access at any time.

3. Your account

4. Plans and payment

5. Your content

What you put into Vesta, and what Vesta makes for you, belongs to you, as far as the law allows. You give us permission to process it only so we can provide Vesta to you. Make sure you have the right to use anything you upload. We don't use your content to train AI models.

6. AI can be wrong

Vesta's answers, code, images and audio come from AI models, and they can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important before you rely on it, and don't treat Vesta as a substitute for a doctor, lawyer, accountant or other professional. Review code before you run or publish it.

7. Your computer and files

Vesta works only inside folders you give it, and records its changes in Tasks so you can review or undo them. Keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose, as you would with any software that edits files.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use Vesta to:

If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. If we close an account for a serious or repeated breach, we won't refund the current month.

9. Ending your account

You can stop using Vesta and close your account at any time. We may close an account for breaking these terms, or end the service entirely with at least 30 days' email notice. If we end the service or close your account without you having broken these terms, we'll refund any unused top-up balance and the unused part of your current month.

10. No guarantees

Vesta is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or other consumer protection law that can't be limited by agreement.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and, for changes that matter, email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using Vesta after that, the new terms apply.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
